Hello, I’m Wyatt Berka, and this is my blog.
I was born in Brenham, TX on the 30th of January 1979. For a good part of my life, I lived in Somerville, TX; I graduated from Somerville High School in 1997. I’m currently living in Houston, TX.
When I’m asked to describe myself, my usual response is that I’m a pierced and tattooed nerd. That pretty much sums me up. Specifically, my interests include languages, just about anything science-related (especially astronomy, chemistry, and physics), and computers. I do enjoy playing video games, but I don’t play them as much as I used to; I guess I’m growing out of them. My interest in science is fueled by my love of learning how stuff works. This applies to languages as well. I’m more interested in how a particular language works than actually learning to speak the language itself. This is why I conlang. If you really want to learn how a language works, then make up your own.
I tend to avoid religion and politics like shrink-wrapped Ebola virus. With that being said, I am an atheist. I stopped believing in fairy tales a long time ago. My “religion” is logic, empirical evidence, and common sense. Politically, I’m liberal, and I usually vote for the Democrats—the Democrats tend to have a better grip on reality than the Republicans.
There you have it. ^_^
Also, the theme I’m using is a customized version of Twenty Ten. If you want it, you can download it here.
